Comics for the whole family to enjoy!

Seventy years ago, a small independent comics publisher in New York introduced a new kind of character to comic fans. He wasn't a superhero or a warrior, not a spaceman, nor a villain...he was Archie Andrews, the red-headed teenaged "everyman" we all grew up with! Three modern cartoon cousins get lost in a pre-technological valley, spending a year there making new friends and out-running dangerous enemies. Their many adventures include crossing the local people and meeting a giant mountain lion called RockJaw: Master of the Eastern Border. They learn about sacrifice and hardship and finally discover their own true natures in the climatic journey to The Crown of Horns. Whether she's weaving hilarious, sprawling tales while babysitting the terrible tot Alvin, keeping her chubby chum Tubby and his clubhouse cronies in line, or making nice with the friendly ghost she catches reading "People Stories" in her bedroom, Little Lulu is both "Everygirl" and an undeniable one-of-a-kind! Set primarily at the beginning of Edo period of Japan, with anthropmorphic animals replacing humans, the series features a rabbit ronin, Miyamato Usagi. Usagi wanders the land on a warrior's pilgramage occasionally selling his services as a bodyguard. Usagi Yojimbo is heavily influenced by Japanese cinema and has included references to the work of Akira Kurosawa and to icons of popular Japanese cinema such as Lone Wolf and Cub, Zatoichi, and Godzilla. |
